Our head chef Can Alp combines the experiences he gained from his family and hometown with contemporary tastes, creating modern touches while preserving the essence of thousands of years of civilization.


Every plate at Zeugma tells a story — of spice routes and shared harvests, of grandmothers' recipes carried across continents, and of a crossroads culture that refuses to be reduced to a single definition.

Our Heritage

The Mediterranean is home to various cultures, nations, and flavors. From Lebanon to Anatolia, the Aegean Sea to Greece, a plethora of spices and vegetables come together as every culture inspires each other. As Zeugma, we feel each culture within ourselves.

Anatolia, which has been the bridge between the Middle East, Aegean, and Europe for millennia and acted as the home to countless tribes and states that passed by, is now our menu's source of inspiration. We modernize ancient dishes using new recipes and unite east with west, and tradition with the contemporary.

Meet Our Chef

Can Alp

Executive Chef & Owner

Can Alp transitions effortlessly between western and eastern influences. Born in Mardin, Turkey, he studied Gastronomy & Culinary Arts at Beykent University in Istanbul, interned in Paris for nine months, and arrived in New York to lead Zeugma's kitchen.


His cooking is a living document of the Anatolian crossroads — a place where Turkish, Arabic, Greek, and Levantine traditions have overlapped for millennia. Every dish reflects that inheritance, expressed in a language that is unmistakably his own.
